Mexican F1 driver Sergio "Checo" Perez said his dream is to step on the podium in the Grand Prix to be held in Mexico City next month, local press reported on Wednesday.

According to local daily Record, Perez said he wishes to be part of the first three in the Mexican GP, though he knows this is not easy because his rivals have great level.

"I definitely dream about climbing the podium but I have to be down-to-earth that a possible victory will only occur in extraordinary circumstances, as in Russia," said Perez in an interview with Record, recalling his achievement of the third place in the Russian GP days ago.

The Mexican driver said more than 100,000 fans are expected to see GP next November. "Fans are yearning a good result and this is a great motivation for me," said Perez.

"I will give it all as I do it every weekend around the world. But the Mexican GP will be different thanks to the support of 100,000 fans, this is a huge motivation," he added. Endi
