The Pentagon said on Tuesday the United States and Russia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on safe flight operations over Syria as they carry out separate airstrikes against militant groups in the country.

The MOU did not establish any military cooperation between the two in Syria; neither did it include intelligence sharing or any sharing of target information in Syria, said Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook here at a briefing. (US-Russia-Flight)

CANBERRA -- Australia's Opposition on Wednesday agreed with the government on terms which would allow the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement to go ahead.

Following a meeting between Labor senator Penny Wong and the government's Trade Minister Andrew Robb, Labor's caucus room approved the deal Wednesday morning, which now includes a number of small changes to Australia's Migration Act. (Australia-China-Trade)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli soldiers shot and killed Tuesday two Palestinians after they attempted to perpetrate a stabbing attack near the West Bank city of Hebron, Israeli army said, where violence raged throughout the day.

A military spokesperson said a soldier was very lightly wounded in his face when two suspects approached a military post in Hebron. "One of the assailants stabbed the soldier," the spokesperson said. (Israel-Palestinians-Shooting) Endi
