Cold air chills north China

Xinhua, October 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

China's central observatory said Saturday that a cold front will sweep across north China during this weekend, bring temperature drops and strong wind.

On Saturday and Sunday, cold air will chill most parts of north China and the lowest temperature there will be generally less than 10 degrees Celsius, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said.

In some parts of Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces, the minimum daily temperature will fall below zero degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, strong wind will be felt in most northern areas, including Beijing and Tianjin municipalities and Shanxi, dispersing air pollutants and bringing good air quality, the center said.

On Saturday, a vast part of south China will be hit by rain. Some areas in Tibet Autonomous Region, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and provinces of Yunnan, Guangdong and Hainan will see heavy rain or rainstorms, the NMC said. Endi
