The Volkswagen dealer in Slovenia, Porsche Slovenia, announced on Wednesday that it would recall nearly 34,300 cars with contentious emissions software in the country.

The majority of the 34,300 cars will be Volkswagens, but several thousand Skodas, Audis and SEATs are also affected, the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) reported on Wednesday, quoting the announcement by the national Volkswagen dealer.

"According to data available to Porsche Slovenia, the service will have to be carried out on 34,291 vehicles in Slovenia," said the company. Among them there are 22,085 VWs, 6,173 Skodas, 3,888 Audis and 2,145 Seats with contentious software in Slovenia, "All of them have the EA189 diesel motor."

The car owners will be informed shortly, Porsche Slovenia said. They can check whether their car is equipped with the contentious software on the car makers' Slovenian webpages. Enditem
