British FTSE 100 increases 0.16 pct

FTSE 100 Index, Britain's benchmark stock market gauge, increased by 0.16 percent, or 10.19 points, to 6,336.35 points on Wednesday.

The share price of Anglo American shot up 9.98 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Rio Tinto, Antofagasta, Glencore and BHP Billiton spiked by 7.48 percent, 7.36 percent, 5.22 percent and 4.58 percent respectively.

International Consolidated Airlines Group SA led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 5.63 percent, followed by easyJet (5.00 percent), Carnival (4.59 percent), Hikma Pharmaceutical (4.56 percent) and Sports Direct International PLC (4.32 percent). Endit
