Finnish national carrier Finnair announced on Wednesday that it would launch two new summer routes to Guangzhou in China and Fukuoka in Japan starting next summer.
The airline will open a direct route to Guangzhou, the third largest city in China, with four weekly flights from May 6 to Oct. 29 in 2016.
Guangzhou is located in south China with a population of about 13 million. It is a major trade and transportation center, as well as the main manufacturing hub in one of mainland China's leading commercial and manufacturing regions, according to Finnair.
Guangzhou is Finnair's sixth destination in China. The airline currently has four year-round routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Chongqing, and one summer route to Xi'an, according to the airline.
Finnair will also launch a non-stop flight to Fukuoka in southern Japan next summer with three weekly flights during summer season. Finnair currently offers daily connections to Tokyo Narita, Nagoya and Osaka.
According to the airline, both the destinations are connected to Helsinki, the capital of Finland, with Finnair's Airbus A330 aircrafts.
Founded in 1923, Finnair is the flag carrier of Finland with its headquarter in Vantaa and its main hub at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Endit
