French stock market index up 0.14 pct

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 0.14 percent to close at 4,667.34 points on Wednesday, up 6.7 points.

Although the United States' weekly petroleum stock is larger than expected, which slightly dragged down the price of petroleum, the CAC 40 of Paris managed to close higher on Wednesday with 22 of the 40 selected stocks gaining advance.

The top three gainers on Wednesday were ArcelorMittal, up 7.18 percent, Renault, up 6.78 percent, and Peugeot, up 2.82 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Wednesday were Essilor Intl., down 2.89 percent, Sanofi, down 2.29 percent, and Legrand, down 2.16 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 gained an advance of 0.95 percent to close at 4,660.64 points, up 43.74 points. Endit
