British FTSE 100 drops 0.83 pct on Tuesday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday decreased by 0.83 percent, or 49.62 points, to 5,909.24 points.

Commodities group Glencore's share price hit back on Tuesday. The Britain-listed company's share price plunged almost a third at the start of the week.

Share price of Glencore increased by 16.95 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. SABMiller, Tesco, Antofagasta and Royal Dutch Shell 'A' increased by 4.94 percent, 3.07 percent, 2.22 percent and 1.89 percent respectively.

Wolseley led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 12.52 percent, followed by Hikma Pharmaceuticals (8.07 percent), Persimmon (5.22 percent), Taylor Wimpey (5.11 percent) and Travis Perkins (4.41 percent). Endit
