LME base metals rebound on Tuesday

The base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed higher on Tuesday.

U.S. aluminum giant Alcoa said Monday it would split into two in an effort to boost shareholder returns. The three-month unofficial aluminum price increased 12 U.S. dollars, or 0.77 percent, to 1,561 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial copper price increased 28 U.S. dollars, or 0.56 percent, to 4,984 U.S. dollars per tonne.

The three-month unofficial lead price increased 21 U.S. dollars, or 1.28 percent, to 1,666 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial zinc price increased 34.5 U.S. dollars, or 2.13 percent, to 1,654.5 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial nickel price increased 25 U.S. dollars, or 0.25 percent, to 9,837.5 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial tin price increased 285 U.S. dollars, or 1.87 percent, to 15,550 U.S. dollars a tonne. Endit
