Singapore's Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen reiterated that Singapore Armed Forces stands ready to support Indonesia's haze mitigation efforts if and when activated, local media reported on Tuesday.
Minister Ng stressed that it's up to the Indonesians to decide whether what Singapore is offering is adequate during his visit in Indonesia.
Singapore had previously offered to send C-130 aircraft for cloud seeding and Chinook helicopters with large water buckets to douse the fires in Indonesia, but Indonesia has rejected Singapore 's offer for help.
Besides haze conditions, Ng reaffirmed the close and long standing bilateral defense relations between Indonesia and Singapore.
Ng met with Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan and Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, according to a press release released by Singapore's Ministry of Defence on Monday evening.
Ng is in Indonesia for a two-day visit starting from Monday to Tuesday. Endi
