Unemployment rate in Vietnam stays at 2.36 pct in 9 months

Unemployment rate of labor in working age in Vietnam is estimated to reach 2.36 percent in the first nine months of 2015, according to General Statistics Office (GSO) on Tuesday.

The figures in the three quarters stayed at 2.43 percent, 2.42 percent and 2.24 percent, respectively, the statistics office said in its report on social and economic situation in the first nine months.

Unemployment rate in urban area reached 3.42 percent, while that in rural area at 1.86 percent.

The number of Vietnamese workforce in working age is estimated to reach 47.78 million people as of Oct. 1, 2015, an increase of 9, 300 people compared to the same period in 2014.

Male workforce is estimated at 25.75 million people, accounting for 53.9 percent of the total workforce, while female makes up 46. 1 percent with 22.03 million people, said GSO.

According to the World Bank, Vietnam's population reached 90.73 million people as of the end of 2014. Endi
