Senior official meets Tibetan patients receiving medical assistance in Beijing

Xinhua, September 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Sun Chunlan, a senior official, on Thursday met with representatives of Tibetan congenital heart disease patients receiving sponsored medical care in Beijing.

There are 88 patients in Beijing for treatment from the Aba prefecture, Sichuan Province, on a government assistance project for Tibetans.

Sun, head of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, wished them early recovery.

Sun also met with medical personnel and volunteers returned from delivering free medical services to people in Aba, and acknowledged their efforts and devotion.

Sun said more socially responsible enterprises and philanthropists are needed to assist people living in less developed areas, especially ethnic regions and border areas.

The project has been running for five years. This year, the project brought free medical diagnosis and treatment to 40 townships in Aba. Endi
