British FTSE 100 rises 1.62 pct on Wednesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday increased by 1.62 percent, or 96.40 points, to 6,032.24 points.

The London stock index rebounded technically on Wednesday after a bid drop.

Besides, London has pipped New York to the post as the world's top financial center, according to a survey from research company Z/Yen on Wednesday.

International Consolidated Airlines Group SA's share price increased by 4.76 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Coca-Cola HBC AG, Carnival, easyJet and Old Mutual increased by 4.63 percent, 4.02 percent, 3.47 percent and 3.28 percent respectively.

Rolls-Royce Holdings led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 0.88 percent, followed by Standard Chartered (0.77 percent) and Antofagasta (0.62 percent). Endit
