A Chinese navy fleet set sail here on Tuesday to continue its round-the-globe voyage after a five-day visit to Denmark.

Chinese Ambassador to Denmark Liu Biwei, Danish Commander Senior Grade Lars Holbaek, representatives of Danish Navy and overseas Chinese and students in Denmark attended a grand farewell ceremony at Nordhavn harbor.

The fleet, composed of a missile-equipped destroyer Ji Nan, a missile-equipped frigate Yi Yang, and an integrated supply ship Qian Dao Hu, made a port call in Copenhagen on Friday, the first such fleet visit to Denmark from the Chinese Navy.

During the visit, the Chinese naval servicemen and their Danish counterparts conducted various activities such as joint maneuvers, mutual visits to each other's warships and a friendly football match.

The fleet, headed by Senior Colonel Wang Jianxun, started its global trip after a four-month mission of convoy in the Gulf of Aden and sea areas of Somalia. Denmark is its third stop following Sudan and Egypt. Endit
