Rocket fire kills 14 Syrians in Aleppo city

Xinhua, September 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least 14 people were killed and 25 others wounded on Sunday by rebel rocket firing against government-controlled districts of Syria's northern city of Aleppo, state news agency SANA reported.

The rebels, who entrenched in Bani Zaid neighborhood, fired multiple improvised rockets on Midan neighborhood in the government-controlled part of western Aleppo, said SANA.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said five children were among the killed, adding that the death toll is likely to rise due to the large number of people in critical conditions.

The attack is the latest in an endless series of shelling and violence that has engulfed Aleppo.

Aleppo, Syria's second largest city and once an economic hub, has become carved out between Syrian government in the west part and the rebels in the east. Endit
