Book "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" introduced in Washington

Xinhua, September 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

The book "Xi Jinping: the Governance of China", which outlined the full political ideas of the Chinese top leadership, was introduced here on Thursday ahead of President Xi's visit to the United States later this month.

As part of the people-to-people exchanges between China and the United States, the book will be highlighted at a month-long event to promote Chinese books at Politics & Prose in Washington, a bookstore known for its knowledgeable staff and seen as a part of D.C. culture.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the promotion event, Guo Weimin, vice minister of China's State Council Information Office said it is significant to introduce Xi's book to American people prior to his U.S. visit.

Guo said this book will offer American readers a better chance to understand Xi's views on domestic issues, grasp the trend of China's reform and development, and understand China's foreign policy and relations with the world.

So far, the book has been published in Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Japanese, and its sales worldwide had exceeded 5.2 million by the end of August. Endi
