India has welcomed the gains made on constitution making in neighboring Nepal.
Issuing a press statement late Monday, Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj expressed hope that Nepalese leaders will leave no stone unturned to build a modern Nepal through a durable and resilient constitution.
"A constitution, which is fully owned by and accommodates the aspirations of all regions and sections of the Nepalese society, will lay a durable foundation for a peaceful and prosperous Nepal and will become the focal point for Nepal's bright future," the statement reads.
India also lauded the role of political leadership of Nepal in the constitution drafting process.
India's response comes as Nepal entered the final phase of promulgating its new constitution. The country will unveil its new constitution on Sept. 20. Endi
