Xinhua, September 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

A 16-year-old schoolgirl in Sierra Leone died from the Ebola disease in a hospital on Sunday, the country's National Ebola Response Center has announced.

The girl, from Makeni village, was tested positive of Ebola after she became gravely ill. She was then immediately taken to an Ebola treatment hospital but died later, according to the Bombali District Ebola Team Coordinator Emmanuel Konteh.

Upon that, the entire Makeni village of over 700 people was put under quarantine, including seven high risk relatives of the deceased.

The way the girl contracted the virus is yet to be determined. But she is suspected to have been infected by her boyfriend, an Ebola survivor. Enditem
