10 militants killed in S. Afghanistan

Afghan security forces during a crackdown against Taliban in Musa Qala district of the southern Helmand province on Monday have killed 10 insurgents and injured six others, an army spokesman in the province, Mohammad Rasoul Zazai said.

"The operations launched in Musa Qala district early Monday morning have left 10 rebels dead and injured six others so far," Zazai told Xinhua.

There were no casualties on security personnel, the official said.

Taliban militants who have been fighting over the past couple of weeks to capture Musa Qala district, have not made comment. Endi
