French stock market index up 1.44 pct on Wednesday

French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.44 percent to close at 4,664.59 points on Wednesday, up 66.33 points.

Boosted by the good performance of Asian markets, the CAC 40 of Paris closed higher on Wednesday with 37 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

The top three gainers on Wednesday were Valeo, up 3.38 percent, Alcatel-Lucent, up 3.21 percent, and Lafargeholcim Ltd, up 3.15 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped on Wednesday were Solvay, down 0.29 percent, Alstom, down 0.26 percent, and Bouygues, down 0.14 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.07 percent to close at 4,598.26 points, up 48.62 points. Endit
