Chinese Huawei vows to bring latest ICT solutions to Africa

Chinese leading telecom solution provider, Huawei has said it is well positioned to share best practices and latest ICT solutions with Africa.
Speaking on the sidelines of an African Union (AU) ministerial meeting on communications and ICT in Addis Ababa, Charles Ding, Huawei Senior Vice President said his company is working hard with its partners on the continent to build better connected Africa.
Huawei has been capitalizing on introducing new technologies to bridge the digital divide and serve the digital revolution in Africa, said Ding.
He told Xinhua that Huawei could cooperate with African countries in the development of ICT infrastructure, mobile broadband, fixed broadband, and other areas of ICT to transform existing industries into more efficient ones.
In the last five years, the company has trained 15,000 African engineers at its seven training centers in Africa, according to Huawei.
The company has also announced that it in the next five years will train more than 1,000 students in China under its ICT talent cultivation program.
Huawei has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the African Union (AU) to jointly enhance ICT literacy, capacity and ICT infrastructure development in Africa.
Elham Ibrahim, AU Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, told the media that AU is keen to the partnership with Huawei in ICT development.
The commissioner has hailed the Company's contribution to capacity building in the sector by providing training opportunities to Africans. Endit
