Deficit in Iceland's balance of trade falls in August

Iceland saw the deficit in its balance of trade in goods decrease to 2.1 billion Icelandic krona (162.8 million U.S. dollars) in August from 4.4 billion Icelandic krona in July, Statistics Iceland said Friday.

Preliminary figures show the value of exported goods amounted to over 47.3 billion krona, while the value of imported goods amounted to almost 49.4 billion krona in August.

Compared with July, the value of exported goods in August decreased 4.6 billion krona, while the value of imported goods decreased 7 billion krona. (1 U.S. dollar = 129 Icelandic Krona) Endit
