A fire in an apartment building in the northern suburbs of Paris early Wednesday has left eight people dead, including two children, local media reported.

The fire that broke out at 5 a.m. local time (0300 GMT) in 18th arrondissement of the capital also injured four others, Gabriel Plus, the fire brigade commander told local broadcaster Europe 1.

He said 100 firefighters have been mobilized to fight the fire, whose cause has not been determined yet.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve also rushed to the site, saying an investigation is under way and it's too early to determine the cause of the fire. Enditem
