Tokyo shares end higher by break on bargain-hunting

Tokyo shares ended the morning session higher on Wednesday as buying offset selling on bargain- hunting after the market's over 3 percent plunge in the previous day.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 143.74 points, or 0. 79 percent, higher from Tuesday to 18,309.43.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 3.13 points, or 0.21 percent, to 1,481. 24. Endi
