Xinhua, August 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

Thirty people, including former president of 21st Century Media Co. Ltd. Shen Hao, were prosecuted for blackmail, the Shanghai People's Procuratorate announced on Thursday.

Other media executives, including Liu Dong, former president of 21cbh.com; and Xia Ri, former publisher of Money Week, were also among those awaiting trial for extortion, forced transaction and corruption.

They were arrested in September 2014.

The People's Procuratorate of Shanghai's Pudong New District handed their cases over to the Pudong New District People's Court on Thursday.

The procuratorate did not give any other details.

21cbh.com is run by Guangdong-based 21st Century Media Co. Ltd. The company's publications include 21st Century Business Herald, Money Week and 21st Century Business Review.

Under regulations released by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, which manages all media in China, if media organizations are found to have broken the law, press credentials will be revoked. Endi
