Xinhua, August 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

Southern African leaders have approved a regional counter-terrorism strategy during the 35th summit of Southern African Development Community (SADC).

Presidents and senior government officials from 15 SADC member states attended the annual summit of heads of state and government from August 17 to 18 in Gaborone, the capital city of Botswana.

"The region needs to have a common and coordinated approach to prevent and combat acts of international and domestic terrorism," read parts of a communique released Tuesday after the summit.

The SADC region remains one of the most peaceful and stable on the continent. Enditem
