French stock market index down 0.27 pct on Tuesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 dropped slightly by 0.27 percent to close at 4,971.25 points on Tuesday, down 13.58 points.

With the petroleum price dropping, the CAC 40 of Paris closed slightly lower on Tuesday with 25 of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease, while Vivendi stayed the same as previous trading day.

The top three gainers on Tuesday were Alcatel-Lucent, up 1.82 percent, Veolia Environnement, up 1.72 percent, and Accor, up 1.49 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped on Tuesday were Technip and Valeo, both down 2.01 percent, and Total, down 1.65 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 gained a slight advance 0.57 percent to close at 4,984.83 points, up 28.36 points. Endit
