Located west of the Fenhe River, the Shanxi Museum is a modern, comprehensive museum and one of the best in the country. Covering an area of 5.1 hectares, the museum complex is composed of a main hall and annexes in the four corners. It houses a collection of 400,000 artifacts and artworks, including a large number of bronze vessels, jade, sculptures and frescoes which illustrate the long history and rich culture of Shanxi Province.
