A medical team comprising 10 doctors from China's Guangdong Province concluded its two-day assistance mission in Fiji on Monday, providing free medical service to Fijians.
The senior physicians, who come from China's Nanfang Hospital, carried out their work in Fiji's new Navua Hospital, which was donated by the Chinese government.
This is the fourth time that a Guangdong medical delegation visits Fiji, implementing a memorandum of understanding between the Chinese province's health department and Fiji's Ministry of Health and Medical services.
"Unlike previous visits, this time we will provide additional community prevention and health promotion of hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases for the local people, besides the free treatments," said Dr. Yu Yanhong, leader of the delegation and president of China's Southern Medical University.
Since 2012, over 10 medical teams from Guangdong Province have visited Pacific island countries to provide free medical services, warmly welcomed by locals. Endi
