Mainstream media in Nepal have highly praised China's ongoing support and assistance to Nepal.

The Nepali media have noted especially the Chinese support in the aftermath of the April 25 devastating earthquake.

Two leading Kathmandu-based broadsheet daily newspapers in their editorials on Monday highlighted the incessant bilateral cooperation between the two countries after they established diplomatic relations on Aug. 1, 1955.

"China has never interfered in Nepal's domestic affairs and it has continued bilateral relations and cooperation with Nepal on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.

"China's policy of non-interference has always been highly admired and respected by the Nepalese people," a leading daily newspaper, Annapurna Post, said in its editorial titled " friendship with the solid foundation" published on Monday.

The newspaper said China-Nepal friendship has been a matter of happiness to the people of the two countries.

"China has extended support to Nepal during different crisis in the past and it also continued its assistance in the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes. Such kind of support time and again from our northern neighbor has consolidated the friendly relations between the two countries," the editorial said.

The newspaper further stated that China's support in Nepal's health, education, culture, tourism, infrastructure and hydropower sector would be vital in Nepal's socio-economic as well as political development in the days to come.

Another leading newspaper, Nagarik Daily, wrote in its editorial titled "China, the best example of a good neighbor" stressing that the people-to-people contacts have to be further strengthened.

The newspaper said China's unconditional assistance to Nepal in the time of need has been always highly admired by the Nepali people.

"Nepal-China friendly relation has been remained exemplary in the international arena for ages. Perhaps, there is no such relation between any two countries of the world which are absolutely free from any kind of dispute or animosity," the Nagarik Daily added in its editorial.

The newspapers have also highlighted China's respect toward Nepal's territorial integrity and sovereignty. "Nepal has adopted the One-China Policy and expects more cooperation with the northern neighbor for its socio-economic and political development in the days to come," the editorials said.
