Indonesia's inflation unchanged at 7.26 pct in July

Xinhua, August 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indonesia's inflation in July stood at 7.26 percent on year, compared with that in June, as demand for food and transport cost up, national statistic bureau announced on Monday.

The Muslim country witnessed the Islamic festivity of Eid el- Fitr on July 17 and 18, during which the demand for food regularly hikes before the festivity and transport cost is commonly up before and after it.

"This (the annual inflation in July) is similar with that in June. The cause is high demand of food before the festivity. On transportation, its affect is also big," Suryamin, head of the bureau, told a press conference.

On month, the consumer price index (CPI) accelerated at 0.93 percent in July from 0.54 percent in June, he said. Endi
