Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia reduced by 4.27 percent to 815.100 in June on a yearly basis, the national statistics bureau said on Monday.
The decrease is partly attributable to the month of fasting from mid June in the world's biggest Muslim country.
However, in Bali, the country's center of tourism, annual foreign tourist arrivals in June rose by 8.51 percent 357,700, Suryamin, head of the bureau told a press conference.
The government plans to revive the tourism industry by extending free visa facilities to citizens in 45 countries, expecting to scale up foreign tourist arrivals to 20 millions people within five years, from 9.44 million in 2014, according to Arif Yahya, the country's tourism minister.
Indonesia seeks to attract 10 million foreign tourists this year. Endi
