Xinhua, August 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks closed 0.18 percent lower on Monday after the latest 12-party Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade talks ended without agreement Friday and the release of soft U.S. economic data.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 37.13 points, from Friday at 20,548.11. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 0.08 point to 1,659.60.

Decliners were led by steel products, oil and coal products and warehousing issues.

The turnover was 2,780.91 billion yen (about 22.43 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
