Singapore stocks close 1.05 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 34. 48 points, or 1.05 percent, to close at 3,249.52.

A total of 2.13 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 15 billion Singapore dollars (838 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 282 to 152, while 503 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 2.91 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 3,284.00 on Wednesday. Endi
