Urgent: German behind Mogadishu hotel attack: official

A senior Somali intelligence officer said Wednesday that a German citizen of Somali origin was behind Sunday's terrorist attack on Jazeera Hotel in Mogadishu that killed 15 people and injured over 40 others.

"Full investigations are still continuing and it is too early to give full update, but what I can confirm to you is that the male bomber was a German citizen of Somali origin who just came back recently,"the officer who sought anonymity told Xinhua.

Somali security forces teamed up with foreign officers have launched investigations into the attack. Endit
