Honduras detains 160 Cuban migrants

Xinhua, July 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Honduran police on Tuesday detained 160 Cubans who had entered the country illegally from the southern area of Guasaule, on the border with Nicaragua, according to the Honduran migratory authorities.

The citizens of the Caribbean island, including a number of children, will be taken to Tegucigalpa where their migratory status will be revised.

The migrants were arrested on board of urban buses, on which they were entering Honduras in attempts to make their way to the United States.

Employees of the National Migration Institute of Choluteca, where Guasaule sits, were dispatched to help assess the migrants. Endi
