A 7.2 magnitude quake rocked Papua in easternmost of Indonesia earlier Tuesday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here.
The quake struck at 04:41 a.m. Jakarta time Tuesday (2141 GMT Monday) with epicenter at 75 km southeast Mamberamoraya of Papua and with the depth at 49 km under land, an official of the agency said. (Indonesia-Earthquake)

GENEVA -- With negotiations harking back to 1996, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) formally accepted on Monday Kazakhstan's bid to become the body's new member.

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- At least 10 people including four policemen and three civilians were killed, and seven others wounded Monday in an attack on a police station in northern Indian state of Punjab, officials said.

ANKARA -- A military officer of the Turkish Gendarmerie was killed in an attack by the rebels of the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) in eastern Turkey on Monday, private Dogan news agency reported.
