Xinhua, July 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Defending champion Russia showed their dominance in the synchronised swimming team technique final at the Kazan worlds here on Monday.

Russia led the final with 95.7457 points to win the gold, while China trailed in 94.4605. Japan, who made big progress in recent days, came third in 92.4133.

"We tried our best," said China's Huang Xuechen, silver medallist of the duet technique with partner Sun Wenyan on Sunday.

"But we still could not beat the Russian team. I saw their training, and sometimes we could perform as well as them in our training, but they are more steady and better in details."

Russia coach Tatiana Pokrovskaya was happy about the gold.

"Now we can relax. I am exhausted. I was with our girls since the beginning. We've done what we could. I'm so glad we won! We should make all the Championships in Russia. Such a good public, so supporting," she said.  Endi
