Tokyo shares open lower on U.S. losses

Tokyo shares opened lower on Monday on losses in the U.S. market during the weekend.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 165.55 points, or 0.81 percent, from Friday to 20,378.98.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 12.35 points, or 0.75 percent, to 1,643. 51. Endi
