Australian golfer shamed by caddie

Australian world class professional golfer Robert Allenby was more likely too drunk and fell over in Hawaii and was not bashed and kidnapped as he claimed earlier this year, according to his caddie at the time.
Mick Middlemo and Allenby parted ways at the Canadian Open last week after an on-course argument, with the caddie claiming Allenby had unfairly abused him.
Now Middlemo spoke to News Corp on Monday, saying his now former boss ordered him to back up his claim of the mysterious night where Allenby ended up with black eyes and a grazed forehead.
Despite an extensive police investigation, no evidence was found to back up Allenby's claim he was bashed and kidnapped after leaving a wine bar.
Allenby claimed he was drugged, kidnapped, robbed and beaten following a night out in Honolulu in January, in a misadventure the 44-year-old says he doesn't remember.
"Do I think he got mugged and bashed and absolutely robbed? No I don't," Middlemo said.
"That's the story I told because that's the story he told me to tell because I wasn't there."
"Do I think he just fell over and cracked his head? Honestly I do. I think he fell over and someone picked up his wallet and had a great time with his credit card."
Middlemo also said Allenby was arrogant.
"The way he talks to people on the golf course is mind-boggling. To marshals, volunteers," he said.
Allenby has not responded to Middlemo's claims. Endi
