Xinhua, July 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least one person was killed and 10 others injured when a suspected improvised bomb exploded inside a bar Thursday night in south Philippine city of Zamboanga, security officials said on Friday.

The police said the lone fatality was identified as Geraldine Miguel, 21, cashier of the bar while most of those injured were guest relation officers and 3 male clients of the bar that cater massage and video karaoke entertainment.

Angelito Casimiro, City Police Office director, said the explosion was powerful enough to rip down the ceiling of the two- storey stall type old building and damaged the adjacent stall.

Casimiro said the injured were rushed to the state-run Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.

Investigation into the case is underway. Endi
