Danske Bank ups annual outlook on strong half-year results

Xinhua, July 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

Denmark's Danske Bank raised its annual outlook for 2015 after posting strong half-year results, it was announced Wednesday.

Net profits for the first six months of 2015 rose 36 percent to 9.4 billion Danish kroner (1.37 billion U.S. dollars), owing to higher customer activity, improved macroeconomic conditions and lower impairments, the bank said in its interim financial report.

Total income for the first half year amounted to 23.2 billion kroner, up 6 percent from 21.8 billion kroner for the same period last year.

Loan impairments in core activities continued to show a declining trend and down 78 percent to 0.3 billion kroner, reflecting an improvement of macroeconomic conditions and household finances.

The bank now expects a net profit of above 16 billion kroner for 2015, an increase from an earlier forecast of above 14 billion kroner.

It added that the stronger outlook is owing mainly to positive developments in income supported by high customer activity at all business units and in impairments as macroeconomic conditions continue to improve. (1 U.S. dollar= 6.85 Danish kroner) Enditem
