The Lao stock market finished on Tuesday with composite index unchanged at 1,325.95.

A total of 9,713 shares worth about 64 million Lao kip (about 8, 000 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks rose 0.93 percent Tuesday, as the yen's weakness against the U.S. dollar gave a boost to export-oriented issues and added to expectations of firm April-June quarterly earnings by listed companies due this week.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 191.05 points, from Friday at 20,841.97, a level last seen on June 24. Tokyo markets were closed Monday for a national holiday.

SEOUL -- Seoul shares ended higher on Tuesday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 10.31 points, or 0.50 percent, to 2,083.62 at the close. Trading volume stood at 718.79 million shares worth 6.49 trillion won (5. 61 billion U.S. dollars).

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market climbed for the sixth day in a row at Tuesday's close of trading.

At the official market close, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 gained 19.8 points, or 0.35 percent, to 5,706.7, while the broader All Ordinaries index added 19.5 points, or 0.34 percent.

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 1.15 percent higher on Tuesday.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 86. 79 points to 7627.96. The all-share index went up by 46.94 points, or 1.09 percent, to 4355.72.

BEIJING -- China's key Hushen 300 index futures ended mixed on Tuesday, with the contract for August, the most actively traded, up 0.11 percent to close at 3,969 points.

The September contract also gained 0.17 percent to end at 3,900. 2 points. The December contract lost 0.15 percent to finish at 3, 841.6 points. The March 2016 contract went up 0.22 percent to 3, 857 points.

TAIPEI -- Taiwan's share prices closed higher Tuesday with the weighted index up 30.96 points, or 0.34 percent, to close at 9,005. 96.

Turnover totaled 71.65 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.3 billion U.S. dollars).

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks rose 131.62 points, or 0.52 percent, to close on Tuesday at 25,536.43 points.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 25,342.69 and 25, 634.32. Turnover totaled 80.84 billion HK dollars (10.43 billion U. S. dollars).

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 616.61 points on Tuesday, down 3.93 points, or 0.63 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.

About 100.715 million shares worth 1.781 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (82.20 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 97 stocks went up, 116 stocks fell down, while 73 stocks remained unchanged.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX- Index, closed at 84.92 points on Tuesday, down 1.01 points, or 1. 18 percent, against the previous trading session.

A total of 41.148 million shares worth 507.260 billion Vietnamese dong (23.48 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Tuesday, a decrease of 25.17 percent in volume and 2.39 percent in value against the previous trading session.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks finished slightly lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 2.07 points, or 0.06 percent, to close at 3,371.41.

A total of 3.23 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 984.5 million Singapore dollars (719.7 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 256 to 205, while 489 others finished unchanged.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended higher here on Tuesday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,736.19 up 12. 06 points or 0.69 percent, and the Emas was at 11,962.71 up 75.91 points or 0.63 percent.
