From inside the tent of Um Alia al-Debaissi, who was displaced from Idlib to an encampment in the West Bekaa village of Qaraon, the smell of cakes and "katayef" was bringing the attention of the passers-by.
"I saved the money I was collecting from my work as housemaid so I can prepare these traditional pastries for the Eid," she said.
The al-Omari tribe leader Sheikh Shadi al-Omari, was instructing few young tribesmen to prepare a large tent that would serve in the middle of Ibl al-Saki plains as a mosque where he would deliver the Eid speech.
