Shootings at two military facilities in Chattanooga, Tennessee, left four U.S. marines dead and three others wounded Thursday. The gunman was also killed later, authorities said.

According to local police, the two shooting incidents, which lasted for about 30 minutes, happened around 11:00 a.m., local time, at a military recruiting center and the Naval Reserve Center about 10 kilometers apart. The shooter reportedly shot while driving in an open-top Mustang.

CAIRO -- Egypt's Islamic affiliate said it fired out on Thursday a rocket at the Egyptian naval vessel in the North Sinai's Mediterranean coast.

The statement came only few hours after the Egyptian army said it killed 22 suspected militants in raids against their hideouts in North Sinai. (Egypt-IS-Attack)

ABUJA -- At least 25 people have so far been killed and over 30 injured by twin blasts that rocked a market in Nigeria's northeastern state of Gombe on Thursday, sources said.

An official of the Nigerian National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), who confirmed the incident, said 25 bodies have were found at the scene of the blast by field officers of the rescue agency.

ATHENS -- All Greek banks will reopen next Monday after a three-week bank holiday, Greek Deputy Finance Minister Dimitris Mardas said on Thursday in Athens.

"All banks will reopen and citizens will be able to make more transactions," Mardas told Greek national television broadcaster ERT.

RIYADH -- A car bomb killed the driver blowing himself up and injured two policemen at a checkpoint in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Thursday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The explosion took place on Al Haer road in Riyadh at sunset when the driver blew himself up to avoid the search of the police who tried to stop the car, a spokesman of the Interior Ministry said.
