Singapore stocks close 0.38 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 12.48 points, or 0.38 percent, to close at 3,279.88.

A total of 1.16 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 929.7 million Singapore dollars (688.8 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 249 to 180, while 538 others finished unchanged.

The STI index down 17.59 points, or 0.54 percent, to close at 3, 267.40 on Thursday. Endi
