Two local officials under probe for suspected offenses

Two local officials in Heilongjiang Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are under probe for suspected power abuse and bribe taking, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said Friday.

Sun Gang, former head of committee for urban construction and environmental protection under Heilongjiang provincial people's congress, is suspected of power abuses and taking bribes.

The Heilongjiang provincial people's procuratorate has placed the case on file and taken compulsory measures against Sun.

The other official is Zhong Shifan, former party chief of Guangxi prison administration. Zhong was arrested by Guangxi people's procuratorate for suspected power abuse and taking bribes.
