Xinhua, July 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Powerful squally showers hit Brunei Friday afternoon following an "Orange" level public weather warning issued by the Brunei Meteorological Department early in the morning.

No official report on the damage of properties and casualties was immediately available, but some houses' roofs have been damaged and many trees uprooted by the storm. Traffic on the highway is also affected by the wind.

According to the Brunei Meteorological Department, wind speed of up to 60 kmh is expected near and during squally showers. Risk of flash flood in continuous heavy showers, especially over low- lying and flood prone areas is also expected. Endi
