Riga port's revenue increases 14.3 pct in 2014

The Freeport of Riga generated 52.145 million euros (57.436 million U.S. dollars) in revenue in 2014, up 14.3 percent from a year before, the Freeport of Riga Authority said in a financial report.

The port's revenue exceeded expenditure by 8.694 million euros last year, according to the report.

While the costs of products sold by the port authority in 2014 grew by 37.3 percent from a year before to 32.738 million euros in 2014, administrative costs dropped 4.2 percent to 8.92 million euros. Other operating costs were down from 2.877 million euros in 2013 to 1.623 million euros in 2014, the port authority said.

The Freeport of Riga Authority generated 45.641 million euros in 2013 in revenue. Endit
