Algerian soccer team rose to the 19th spot in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.

The Desert Foxes moved up two spots comparing to last rankings, ahead of Cote d'Ivoire (21st) and Ghana (25th).

This remarkable spot was reached thanks to the outstanding win (4-0) over Seychelles in AFCON 2017 qualifiers, last month.

The Algerians managed to squeeze into the top 20 teams, edging world class teams, including 1998 world champion France (22nd).

The best ever spot hit by Algeria was 18th for four months in a row, between Dec. 2014 and March. 2015.

Argentina are the new leaders of the FIFA ranking, as they leapfrogged over Belgium and Germany to take the top spot, despite losing to Chile on penalties in the final of the Copa America. Endi
